Tony Caprio, owner of Caprio’s Beverages in Houtzdale, Bob Berg, owner of Berg Construction in Houtzdale, Madera Moose, Houtzdale Moose, and the Croatian Club of Smoke Run, teamed up with the Houtzdale Food Bank to provide 86 families registered at the food bank with a ham, sides dishes, and a dessert for their Easter Dinner. AKRON, Ohio — The FirstEnergy Foundation is donating $500,000 to 42 local food banks and hunger centers in communities served by FirstEnergy Corp. electric utility operating companies in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, West Virginia and Maryland to help provide essential food and nutrition to those who need it the most during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In Clearfield, this includes a $10,000 donation to Central Pennsylvania Community Action Inc. to help stock its shelves with food.

Thanks to a generous contribution from CBT Bank, a division of Riverview Bank, Central Pennsylvania Community Action Inc., will again be offering the Home Heating Savings Account Program (HHSA) this year to qualified residents in Centre and Clearfield counties.
The HHSA is a dollar-for-dollar match of the saver’s account that will be used to pay heating expenses.

Central Pennsylvania Community Action, Inc. is launching a new program called “Budget Buddies” that will offer the opportunity to provide financial education to low-to-moderate income individuals and families who wants to have the tools to achieve their financial goals. The program, is set to begin in September in partnership with Santander Bank, thanks to a $10,000 grant Santander Bank awarded to CPCA.

CLEARFIELD – Central Pennsylvania Community Action is pleased to announce that it is accepting applications for rental, utility and mortgage assistance through the 2018-19 Housing Assistance Program [HAP].
This program, funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, through Clearfield County, serves to assist qualified applicants who are having difficulty making monthly rent payments, utility payments or mortgage payments.
