EMERGENCY FOOD AND SHELTER PROGRAM
***CENTRE COUNTY RESIDENTS ONLY***
FEMA provides EFSP funding to the United Way in order to assist
individuals and families with Rental and Utility assistance.
UTILITY ASSISTANCE
EFSP is able to provide limited metered utility assistance, including gas, electricity, water and sewer service for individuals or household; limited non-metered assistance including oil, firewood and coal.
Must have payment in arrears or due within 5 calendar days, all other resources exhausted, and payment must guarantee additional 30 days of service.
RENTAL ASSISTANCE
EFSP is able to pay 1st month rent to move in or 1 month rent to stop eviction, as well as, 1 month mortgage if you are at least 30 days behind with a late notice.

UTILITY ASSISTANCE
DOLLAR ENERGY FUND PROGRAM
The Dollar Energy Fund is a nonprofit organization that has provided utility assistance to low income households in Pennsylvania since 1983. Through their partnerships with fourteen gas, electric, and water utility companies, they provide approximately 14,000 utility hardship grants to low-income families throughout Pennsylvania on an annual basis.
NATIONAL FUEL -
NEIGHBOR FOR NEIGHBOR PROGRAM
Through the generosity of individuals in your community and National Fuel Gas Company shareholders, a fund was created to help heat the homes of families in need living in Western New York & Northwestern Pennsylvania. Because of donations from your neighbors, funds are available to prevent disconnection of utility service, this program can assist in paying current or past due energy bills, and purchase home heating fuel of any kind. CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (CAP)
UGI is committed to helping customers who make a sincere effort to pay their bills. CPCA is able to assist you through the application process in requesting fuel funds or establishing payment arrangements.

UNITED ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE
"United Electric is a voluntary member contribution program called Members United, which provides limited funding for assistance to those in need. The money contributed by members is administered through community action agencies in each county, to assist fellow members who need help paying their electric bills".
